August 18, 2008
by Deep Throat
Saturday, August 23 starts @ 11 pm @ Huntington's CINEMA ARTS CENTRE
Plagued by insomnia? Afraid of what's lurking under your bed? Forget sleep! The Cinema Arts Centre's 4th Annual Horror Movie Marathon will screen 35mm movies featuring witches, space zombies, an evil monk and giant monsters plus classic horror movie trailers, the Mystery Fifth Feature, surprises and prizes. Free survivor button and boiled, fleshy breakfast treat (i.e., bagels) will be served to all survivors of the bone-crushing terror and spine-tingling chills. This is the finale of the SummerCamp Series, curated by Dylan Skolnick and Brett Sherris. Visit www.CinemaArtsCentre.org or www.summercampcinema.com.
CAC 423 Park Ave, Huntington 631-423-7611
Tickets for the HORROR Marathon are available at the door only.
Public/$15, CAC Members $11 if you survive the night!
Public/$25, CAC Members $21 to escape before the end
Films start at 11 pm and continue until dawn:
THE MOTHER OF TEARS (2008)
"An instant cult classic" -The Village Voice
The L.I Premiere of the brand new third installment in Italian horror master Dario Argento's Three Mothers saga, THE MOTHER OF TEARS is a gruesome and long-awaited treat for horror fans. Completing a loosely knit trilogy that began with SUSPIRIA (1977) and continued with INFERNO (1980), the film sees the titular witch (Asia Argento) awakening to unleash apocalyptic evil on Rome. A grisly and excessive hoot, this is one of the director's strongest efforts since the 1980s.
When alien vampires terrorize London, it's up to a determined police inspector and an astronaut to stop them. American and British space travelers discover humanoids while exploring near Halley's Comet. The astronauts bring three of these aliens aboard their spaceship and head back to...Lifeforce (1985)
From Tobe Hooper, the director of Poltergeist & Texas Chainsaw Massacre: when alien vampires terrorize London, it's up to a determined police inspector and an astronaut to stop them.
TALES FROM THE CRYPT (1972)
EC horror comics came to life for the first time, starring Ralph Richardson, Joan Collins, Peter Cushing, and Nigel Patrick. An evil monk shares five separate stories of the macabre.
GODZILLA 2000
Get ready to crumble! Godzilla's trying to smash and destroy all of Japan's nuclear reactors and power plants. In this 23rd film in the cult series of monster movies that began in 1954, GODZILLA 2000 beckons the giant, indestructible lizard from his hiding place deep in the ocean.
Survivors get a special SUNRISE BREAKFAST, which includes a boiled, fleshy treat caked with a wet, globular, mucus-like substance (i.e., bagel with butter or cream cheese) plus a scalding liquid of choice (i.e., coffee or tea).

1. Sounds like a fun time for all. Too bad we never have anything cool like that in my city.
