You may be asking yourself, "Does the world really need another horror website?" Here at the Zone, we believe that by coming to the table with a fresh perspective and cutting edge features, we can distinguish ourselves from the rest of the pack. We don't want to rule the world, we just want to show it in a different light.

To that end, our goal is to cover all aspects of horror entertainment: filmmaking, publishing, fiction, music, gaming, and art. We're not trying to be all things to all people, but we do want to emphasize the breadth of the genre and make this a domain where people can find news pertaining to all of the subgenres mentioned above.

Our columnists are horror fans just like you and me, but they also work in various aspects of the industry. Each month, columnists John Maclay, Nick Mamatas, Mary SanGiovani, Rick Danford, and Queenie Tirone will guide you the labyrinthine maze known as Horror. Our contributors include Richard Hipson, J.G. Faherty, Kelli Jones, Nicanor Loreti and many others, including videographers Joseph Fusco, Eric Mache, Gregory Kurczynski, Jason Bareford, and Brooks Cantrell.

That's right, FearZone will feature original video content in addition to movie and book trailers, reviews and news. We have camera teams around the country who will interview your favorite filmmakers and horror stars, and you'll have the opportunity to view authors reading their work without searching for whatever out of the way place they've been consigned at a convention. We also have a number of interesting promotions planned with R.J. and Julia Sevin over at Creeping Hemlock Press.

As with any new venture of this type, we'll unveil our features gradually; this is indeed a work-in-progress. Think of each month as the latest issue of a new magazine, with articles, interviews, reviews and previews added incrementally. Send us your feedback and stick around for the ride.

We plan to make it a bumpy one.
